“In you O Lord, I seek refuge… be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress, my eyes waste from grief… But I trust in you O Lord, I say you are my God…” – Psalm 31:1-9.

My computer broke a couple of weeks ago! I have to admit to feeling a large amount of distress at the time; particularly over all the work I might have potentially lost. It brought me to tears and I found it hard to say ‘I trust in you Lord’ when worrying about whether I would have to redo all the work for an assignment. What a first world problem! And yet God is both interested and faithful in all of our problems however small they may seem on an international scale. However, as we read this psalm in full today lets take time to think and pray beyond our own issues for those in Syria, Iran, Iraq and the whole of that region who far more desperately and genuinely need to seek God as their refuge and find him to be their faithful Rock.
