“I say to God, my rock, ‘Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk about mournfully because the enemy oppresses me?’” – Psalm 42:9
The Psalmist is in a bad place – mourning, oppressed, downcast. And yet … despite everything, “God, my rock.” The evidence of his life suggests God has abandoned him, yet he not only seeks God, he regards God’s presence as secure.
