“For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere…” – Psalm 84:10

Where is your ‘happy place’? Just close your eyes for a minute and imagine that place in the world that makes you happiest…….it may be a joyful place, a peaceful place, a beautiful place or the place where you feel most relaxed. I can think of a couple of places that I could quite happily spend the rest of my life. When the psalmist says ‘How lovely is your dwelling place O Lord of hosts’ he’s not comparing it to the worst places on earth but to those happy places that we’ve all just imagined! In fact it far surpasses anything that you or I have been able to imagine.

Someone said to me last week about a place in his dwelling, ‘l don’t need much… a sleeping bag In a small corner of his house would do me fine’. I heard it as such a beautiful desire to be with him! As we read the full Psalm today lets allow God to reveal to awaken in us a fresh desire to live in his dwelling place and spend time in his presence.
