Please read Psalm 90, Exodus 4:1-23 and Hebrews 10:1 – 18….
My day will begin with a little time spent with God in prayer and His word. At about 7.30 I leave for work and from there on my day is filled with demands upon my time and energy pretty much through to bed time. When I do get chance to have free time before bed the only thing I often feel fit for is watching TV. “Bit of a treadmill,” I hear you say, and at times it feels like that, so much so that I forget the absolute wonder of who Jesus is and what He has done for me. The writer to the Hebrews explains the nature of Jesus once for all sacrifice and what this achieved on my behalf. Jesus literally exchanged my poverty for His holiness, so that in an amazing turn of events the Father sees in me what He sees in Jesus. This is the greatest news the world has ever known and it never grows old and yet our lives can make it feel old. Our desire for the things of this life, our worn out busy souls that have forgotten what it feels like to sit in His presence can demote the true reality of our place and position of the Father. And yet, it cannot diminish what He nevertheless has done for us.
Prayer: Lord, help us to remember the reality of our true position in you, which you purchased at the cross for us, and help us make space for you in our busy lives, and may you ever be seen in and through us.
