2nd & 4th Mondays at Connect 12.30pm–2.30pm
Our fortnightly job club offers practical support and guidance together with WiFi and computer access for local people out of work or facing job loss. The job club is free and open to anyone of any, or no, faith. Our central location makes it easy for people to benefit from a service that has proven valuable to many who are out of work and often feel isolated.
Known as WAY AHEAD, the job club meets on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month (except Bank Holidays) at Connect (Queen St., Marple, SK6 6BQ) between 12.30–2.30pm. Connect is easy to find at the top of Queen Street opposite the Regent Cinema. It provides a comfortable and easily accessible space which people find relaxed, warm, and friendly.
Sessions will offer help on:
- Setting up email accounts
- Interview skills
- CV writing
- Making job applications
There will also be opportunity to share experiences and make friends over a ‘cuppa’ and homemade cake. More recently the service has expanded to offer support with a much wider range of problems including:
- Housing issues
- Other employment advice
- Other issues that people may have which they might find difficult to solve on their own
This expanded service is known as Connect Help.
