“They are like trees planted in the House of the Lord… that still bear fruit in old age and are always green and strong” Psalm 92:13-14.
This verse was given to a group as they were praying and planning for a new midweek service that would reach out to the mature in our community. The name and the picture came very naturally and seemed very right!
The Thursday Service began with a vision for serving the older end of our community but absolutely everyone is welcome. The trees have borne fruit and spread their roots beyond even the original vision.
The Evergreens Service is held twice a month on a Thursday afternoon starting at 2.30pm and lasting for about an hour, followed by refreshments in the church lounge. The service is more traditional and quiet and can be appreciated by everyone in our community. We are a friendly, fun group who care for each other. All are welcome.
On the alternate weeks we have a group meeting. This is similar to the main service, but instead of a sermon we break into small groups and discuss questions posed by the previous service’s preacher. This is held in a home. If you require a lift to enable you to come to either the service or the group that can be arranged.
